FREE 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

Fourth of JulyJoin us for a FREE festive and exciting 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Black Point Park & Marina, on Wednesday, July 4th.

Early arrival is recommended.


  • 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - Band performs live at the outdoor Black Point Ocean Grill restaurant that will be serving a delicious array of foods and drinks throughout the evening.
  • 9:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Fireworks presentation

Zoo Miami $5 Days Presented by Ford Motor Company

$5 DaysLook no further for affordable family fun for the Fourth of July. For the third year in a row, Zoo Miami is offering a sweet summer deal of $5 admission, presented by Ford Motor Company. Adults and kids can enjoy discounted admission to the zoo from July 4 - July 8, 2012.

Guests can also register to win a new Ford Focus, enjoy complimentary Blue Bell ice cream and Pepsi Next.  There will be lots of entertainment and activities for the entire family. 

Swimming Fun & Learn-to-Swim Programs at the Pools of Miami-Dade Parks

swimming funSummer is here, which means it's time to hit the pools for some fun, exercise and relaxation. A variety of pools throughout the County are open for you to enjoy and be taught how to swim by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Swim laps, make a splash or become a strong swimmer at a pool oasis near you!

Bowling for Rhinos (BFR) – July 27, 2012

Bowling for Rhinos This annual bowling fundraiser benefits the South Florida Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers rhino conservation projects, and is sure not to leave you in the gutter. With its goal of helping rhinos worldwide, 100% of funds raised by BFR benefits rhino conservation projects for four species of rhino, their habitats, and hundreds of other endangered plants and animals.  The $25 registration fee includes 1 ½ hours of bowling and shoes, raffle ticket and pizza.

Miami-Dade Parks Summer Camp Fun - Register Online Today!

Parks Summer Camp Fun Miami-Dade Parks' fun-filled Summer Camps are being offered at its parks throughout the County June 11-August 17, 2012. Camps are affordable, conveniently located and managed by recreation specialists. The theme is "Fit-to-Play!" and kids of all abilities can enjoy sports-fitness activities, nature adventures, a Miami Marlins game in the new stadium, arts-and-crafts, Zoo Miami field trips, and more!  Camps run 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and offer early drop-off and late pick-up options, too!  Register your kids online today!

Free Parking at Miami-Dade Parks for Parks Foundation Members!

Parks Foundation Parks Foundation members will receive an additional perk just in time for the summer months.  Beginning June 1 through August 31, 2012, existing and new Parks Foundation members will be able to park for free at all Miami-Dade Parks' locations, excluding marinas.


Heads Up: Concussion in youth sports

Heads UpTo help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports.

The Heads Up initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion. It's Better to Miss One Game Than the Whole Season!
